The study was intended to find out a new direction through an analysis on the operation of physical education program in school. Accordingly, as the functions of administrative program for physical education in school were analyzed, the results were drawn as follows. First, The operation of physical education in school consists of regular class and a health room. Its basic goal is to raise the physical, spiritual, social and intellectual development. However, the organization of curriculum mainly emphasizes physical development and its operation also corresponds with the curriculum. Secondly, The number of classes for physical education in school is operated by arranging credit hours of curriculum. According to reformation of curriculum, physical education is conducted 3 hours per week in elementary school and 1 hour per week in vocational high school. In university, physical education is operated 2 hours per week as an elective course. Like this, high school is only aiming at having students go to universities, which is an obstacle for achieving the goal of physical education as a life-long education. Thirdly, When the operation of physical education in school can be an orientation as a life-long education, it is possible to be a help to promote national physical education. In this context, programs for physical education in school should be organized and operated, and there should be a council to prepare for diverse evaluation methods for learning teaching and the development of curriculum for physical education.
현대사회에 있어서 신체활동 연구의 주요 탐구과제는 ‘신체활동을 통한 교육’으로부터 ‘인간의 기본적인 움직임’을 목표로 하는 스포츠적인 움직임을 중심으로 한 생명 활동의 개념으로 급속히 변화되고 있는 추세이다. 이러한 환경변화에 대응하기 위하여 본학회는 ‘체육’적인 요소에서 ‘스포츠’적인 요소를 중심으로 한 학문적 정체성을 견고히 하고, 정기적인 학술지 발간과 학술활동을 통해 한국스포츠츠 문화의 발전과 학문적인 발전에 기여하는데 그 목적이 있다.
