This paper was to examine the poverty of the elderly women in Korea from the gender sensitive and social exclusion perspectives. A set of survey data, using binomial logistic regression model, was analyzed for this purpose. Independent variable was gender, while dependent variable was the binominal condition of exclusion or inclusion (non-exclusion). Control variables were demographic characteristics (i.e., age, marital status, disabled status, chronic disease), social characteristics of subjective economic level in the future, and their residential area. Seven types of exclusion (labor market exclusion, exclusion from education, institutional exclusion, exclusion form housing, cultural exclusion, exclusion from social network, economic exclusion) were fixed in the analyses. The concise findings of the analyses were that exclusion from education as well as exclusion from social network were mainly influenced by gender. However, the other social exclusions did not show any significant effect on it.

성인지적 사회적 배제관점에서 한국여성노인의 빈곤을 살펴보기 위하여 차상위 실태조사자료(한국보건사회연구원, 2004)를 활용하여 logistic regression으로 분석하였다. 기존의 문헌연구를 통해서 여성노인의 빈곤원인을 통제변수로 설정하였고, 독립변수는 성별이었으며, 종속변수는 다양한 차원의 사회적 배제결과인 근로로부터의 배제, 교육으로부터의 배제, 제도적 배제, 주거로부터의 배제, 문화적 배제, 사회적 관계망으로부터의 배제, 경제적 배제로부터 여성노인의 빈곤이 존재하는지를 실증적으로 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 교육으로부터 배제 및 사회적 관계망으로부터의 배제가 통계적으로 유의하게 나타났지만, 나머지 사회적 배제형태는 통계적으로 유의하지 않았다. 성인지적 사회적 배제 관점의 모든 차원에서 여성노인이 남성노인보다 빈곤하지 않았음을 확인하였다.
