The objective of this study is to analyze the parents awareness of home-based day care center in Korea and investigate needs of the parents for these centers accurately. Then, this study proposes a basic material for the development of home-based day care center . Also, this study analyzes the parents awareness of home-based day care center. A total of 10 home-based day care center, such as four centers established in Jeonju, three centers in Iksan, and three centers in Gunsan, were selected as the subjects of this study and also 197 parents were surveyed in this study. The obtained data was analyzed according to its frequencies and percentages for each answer. The results of the analysis of the data can be summarized as follows: First, the reasons that the parents want to care their children in such centers are 53.8% for "there are no people to care children". The decision of child care was decided as 50.8% for "both parents and grand parents". In the awareness of the occupation in mothers, they want to occupations about 59.9% for "they want some occupations if they have certain reliable centers". In the relationship between parents and centers, it was recorded as 82.2% for "a horizontal relation between parents and centers". Regarding their satisfaction for the centers, it was presented as 76.6% for "more than they want in general". In addition, the qualification of teachers showed 83.3% for "devotion and experience for child care". Second, the selection guide of the centers was 61.9% for "its centers and costs in child care". In the most need in these centers was recorded as 53.3% for "development of emotion". Also, the need in improvement was 59.4% for "education programs and health".

본 연구는 한국가정보육시설 학부모의 가정보육시설에 대한 인식을 분석하여, 학부모의 욕구를 정확하게 진단함으로써, 가정보육의 발전방향을 조망하는 기초자료를 제공하기위한 것으로, 연구문제는, 가정보육시설 학부모의 인식이 어떠한가를 분석하는 것이다. 연구대상은 전라북도 가정보육시설 중 전주 4곳, 익산 3곳, 군산 3곳으로 총 10곳을 임의 선정하여 총 197명의 학부모를 대상으로 하였다. 수집된 자료는 각 문항별로 응답내용을 빈도와 백분율로 분석하였다. 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 학부모의, 가정어린이집에 자녀를 보내는 이유는 “자녀를 돌봐 줄 사람이 없어서가” 53.8%, 자녀양육에 대한 결정은 “부모 및 조부모가 함께” 50.8%로 나타났다. 어머니의 직업에 대한 인식은 “신뢰할 수 있는 보육기관이 있다면 직업을 가질 것이다”가 59.9%, 부모와 가정어린이집과의 관계는 “부모와 가정어린이집의 수평적 관계”가 82.2%로 나타났으며, 만족도는 “대체로 만족 이상”이 76.6%, 교사의 자격 요건은 “영아들에 대한 애정과 경험”이 83.3%로 높게 나타냈다. 둘째, 가정어린이집의 선택기준은 “보육시설과 보육비용”때문이 61.9%를 나타냈으며, 가정어린이집에 대해서 가장 원하는 교육 영역은 “정서발달이” 53.3%로 가장 높게 나타났으며, 개선 사항으로는 “교육과정과 건강”이 59.4%의 높은 욕구수준을 나타냈다.
