The objective of this study is to recognize main environmental issues that we are facing, and to identify the values of beauty design and cosmetics based on ecological aesthetics. It is expected that the results of this study contribute to the beauty design and cosmetics planning not only for future generation but also for the present time. For this purpose, the definition of sustainable eco-beauty and its historical background were reviewed, and cases embodying sustainable eco-beauty, a modern version of eco-beauty, were analyzed. The results of this study can be summarized as follows. First, eco-beauty for sustainability shows an environmental consciousness and stresses the ethical aspects of beauty design and cosmetics that take into account the wellbeing and sustainable development of human society. It is a design and cosmetics that care for the common good of society and the global system of fair trading. It gave benefits by promoting development in local society. Second, the six characteristics of sustainable beauty design and cosmetics have much to do with modern beauty genres. they are natural style, minimal style, ethnic style, hippy style, classical style and natural cosmetics.
