In this study, one basic historical viewpoint is that the exterior of architecture free of structure could be an expressional factor. It means that in the traditional architecture the exterior implies the integrated meanings of structure and decorations but in modern architecture it implies beauty criteria or images. The concept of structure and decorations can be found in pre-modern
architectural styles and is almost the same as that of comtemporary Architecture. However, with the various methods of expression available, the architectural styles could be approached with new meanings and urban images in a contemporary society.For the ideal formation of space, the exterior should include the fundamental meanings of shape as a way of expressing it. This study aims to examine the fundamental physical nature of materials before being used to express the shape of space rather than show the ways to express the shape.
