The purpose of this study is to supply preliminary data of separated stored rainwater system using variable roof drain on flat roof. After 2000 year, the inundation damage in down town city is increased by localized heavy rainfall. The exiting stored rainwater system such as water-storage dam and dike has demerits that high construction cost and long-term construction periods. But the separated stored rainwater system using variable roof drain can be cut down construction cost about 1/10 compared with the construction cost of exiting stored rainwater system. As water temperature on roof top equipped with variable roof drain is lower than outdoor air temperature, the cooling road of roof top can be reduced. Therefore, the stored water on the flat roof can be occurred cooling effect such as roof pond type that can be reduced cooling road by evaporation.
