A Study on the Prediction of Energy Consumption Estimation and Economic Evaluation according to Building Opening Design

The purpose of this study was to estimate the energy consumption and economic evaluation of building opening design. In this study model building is a 10 story office building located in Pusan and 4 cases of building opening design are chosen to be compared with energy consumption and energy cost. Case 1 is the alternative which is using green glass, case 2 is clear glass, case 3 is green glass+daylight dimming control and case 4 clear glass+daylight dimming control.
The results of this study were as follows; of the 4 cases, case 3 is the best alternative because the electric and gas cost are the minimum cost less than 3 other alternatives in terms of energy consumption cost. However, the economic evaluation must be considered and determined in terms of the life cycle cost, therefore the first incremental cost and operation cost of 25 years are
summed in the present value of money.
