This study attempts to present the eco-friendly element of the urban planning that is being practiced in the Shanghai, because they are interested in quality of life according to the rapid economic growth of Shanghai. To achieve this purpose, eco-friendly plans and assessment methods are proceeded comparing.
As the result of study, because China don't have legal foundations that can practice ecology criteria and need to consider multiple environmental characteristic in environmental urban planning, its practice have limit from a practical point of view.
Accordingly, in future, the efforts that promote particular studies and field application works for proper eco-friendly urban planning on the kind of area type are demanded.
