Traditionally in Korea aged parents had been supported by their son with living together. However, modern life style has changed the family system called "nuclear family". Along with the trend the changed mind of aged people is demanded to support them themselves with heath and sound psychological mind. Although the growing of the concern about single elderly household, the reality in the situation has been ignored so far. The living quality of elderly people living alone which concerns health, leisure, psychological confidence seems to be much worse comparing to usual elderly household. The reality in the situation is that the aged people in single elderly household has financially difficulty, health problems and psychological uncertainty.
The purpose of the research is to investigate some design guides for single elderly household. The information from this research would be the basic guideline for the design or the further research in the field.
