본 연구는 스포츠 소비가 단일 종목 중심에서 벗어나 복수 종목을 전환·병행하는 방향으로 변화하고 있다는 문제 의식에서 출발하였다. 연구 목적은 복합 스포츠 소비의 구조를 설명하고, 이를 순환적 스포츠 참여와 다중 스포츠 참여로 구분하여 해석하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 국내외 선행연구와 정책·통계 자료를 기반으로 문헌통합 분석을 수행하고, 옴니보 어 이론을 스포츠 소비 맥락에 적용하였다. 분석 결과, 복합 스포츠 소비는 단순한 참여 종목 수의 증가가 아니라 참여 목적과 생활 맥락에 따른 행동 조직 방식의 변화로 나타났다. 또한 소비자 세분화는 인구통계 중심 접근만으로는 한계가 있으며, 전환 주기·병행 강도·복귀 패턴 등 행동구조 변수를 함께 반영할 필요가 확인되었다. 본 연구는 스포츠 소비자 분석의 해상도를 높이고, 정책 및 산업 현장에서 유형 맞춤형 전략을 설계할 수 있는 실무적 근거를 제시한다.

This study examines the structural shift from single-sport consumption to complex sport consumption, in which individuals switch between or concurrently engage in multiple sports. The study aims to conceptualize this shift by distinguishing cyclic sport participation from multi-sport participation and by interpreting these patterns through omnivore theory. A literature-based integrative review was conducted using prior academic studies and policy/statistical sources. The findings show that complex sport consumption is not merely an increase in the number of sports practiced, but a change in how participation is organized according to goals, constraints, and everyday contexts. The results also indicate that demographic segmentation alone is insufficient, and that behavioral-structure variables—such as transition frequency, concurrency intensity, and return patterns—should be incorporated. This study provides a practical analytical framework for more precise consumer segmentation in sport policy and industry settings.
