This qualitative content analysis examined the experiences of 15 first-year nursing students participating in major-connected service-learning through reflective journal analysis. The study, conducted from May to September 2025, involved students providing infection control and basic health education to community members. The program consisted of three sessions, each lasting approximately 3 hours. Using conventional content analysis, five major themes emerged: (1) practical application of disciplinary knowledge, (2) strengthening professional identity, (3) self-growth and enhanced learning motivation, (4) value of communication and interaction, and (5) redefinition of service essence. Results demonstrate that servicelearning effectively bridges theoretical knowledge with practical application, fostering professional identity development, enhancing self-efficacy, and promoting civic engagement among novice nursing students. This research provides evidence that well-structured service learning programs can serve as transformative educational strategies even for first-year nursing students, suggesting the need for systematic integration of service learning from the earliest stages of nursing education.

본 연구는 전공연계 서비스러닝에 참여한 간호학과 신입생 15명의 경험을 성찰일지를 통해 분석한 질적 내용분석 연구이다. 2025년 5월부터 9월까지 진행된 본 연구에서 학생들은 3회기에 걸쳐 각 3시간씩 지역사회 구성원들에게 감염관리 및 기본 건강관리 교육을 제공하였다. 전통적 내용분석을 통해 다섯 가지 주요 주제가 도출되었다: (1) 전공지식의 실제화, (2) 전문직 정체성 강화, (3) 자기 성장과 학업동기 고양, (4) 소통과 상호작용의 가치, (5) 봉사의 본질 재인식. 연구 결과는 서비 스러닝이 이론적 지식과 실제 적용을 효과적으로 연결하고, 전문직 정체성 형성을 촉진하며, 자기효능감을 향상시키고, 시민 성 함양을 증진한다는 것을 보여준다. 본 연구는 체계적으로 구성된 서비스러닝 프로그램이 간호학과 신입생들에게도 변혁적 교육 전략으로 작용할 수 있음을 입증하며, 간호교육 초기 단계부터 서비스러닝의 체계적 통합이 필요함을 시사한다.
