본 연구의 목적은 최근 12년간 국내에서 발표된 아동·청소년 대상 동물매개중재 프로그램의 효과를 메타 분석하여 통합적으로 검토하는 데 있다. 연구 방법으로는 총 40편의 연구를 선정하고, R 프로그램을 활용한 메타 분석을 통해 전체 효과크기와 인지·사회·정서 영역별 종속변인을 분류하여 세부적으로 분석하였으며, 프로그램 대 상자의 장애 유무에 따른 효과 차이도 함께 검토하였다. 연구 결과, 전체적으로는 인지, 사회, 정서 순으로 유의한 효과가 나타났고, 장애인 집단에서는 사회, 정서, 인지 순으로 효과가 나타나 차이를 보였다. 장애 여부는 효과 크 기 순서에 영향을 미치는 주요 변수로 확인되었다. 또한 메타 회귀분석을 통해 국내 연구들의 질적 성장이 통계적 으로 유의함이 검증되었다. 본 연구는 동물매개중재의 과학적 근거를 제시하고, 대상자 특성을 고려한 맞춤형 중 재 설계 및 실증 연구의 확대 필요성을 강조한다.

This study conducted a meta-analysis to examine the effects of animal-assisted intervention (AAI) programs for children and adolescents in Korea over the past 12 years. Forty studies were analyzed using the R program. Overall effect sizes and subgroup effects by cognitive, social, and emotional domains were calculated, and differences were examined based on participants’ disability status. AAI showed significant effects in the order of cognition, social skills, and emotional stability, while the disabled group showed a reversed trend. Disability status was identified as a key moderating variable. Meta-regression confirmed a significant improvement in research quality. The study provides scientific evidence for AAI and highlights the need for tailored intervention design and further empirical studies.
