본고에서는 김계숙의 『근세철학사』(1955)에 부기된 참고문헌의 대부분이 경성제국대학에서 철학사를 가르친 아베 요시시게가 참고했던 문헌들과 일치한다는 점에 착목하여, 서양철학사의 수용사를 정리했다. 김계숙은1929년에 경성제국대학 철학과를 “철학, 철학사” 전공으로 졸업했다. 그강좌 담임은 아베 요시시게(安倍能成)로, 아베는 14년간 본 강좌에서 철학사를 가르쳤다. 본고에서는 선행연구에서 불충분했던 경성제대 “철학, 철학사” 강좌의 교수내용을 전 시기(1926~1944)를 대상으로 밝히고, 아베의 강의 노트와 일기를 통해 그가 서양철학사 강의에 참고한 문헌들을 재현해보았다. 나아가서 아베가 경성제대에 부임하기 이전에 “내지”에서 어떤문헌들을 접했을지에 관하여, 1880년대에 시작된 서양철학사의 번역물들을최대한 조사하고 그것들이 참고한 문헌을 재현했다. 1880년대부터 아베가 도쿄제대에 재학했던 1900년대까지 제국대학에서 서양철학사를 가르쳤던 인물은 대부분이 외국인 교사였으며, 그들은 초기에는 영어로, 부세(Ludwig Busse)가 부임하면서부터는 독일어로 철학사를 가르쳤다. 그 중에서도 특히 쾨버(Raphael von Koeber)는 도쿄제대에서 20년간 서양철학사·그리스어·시학 등을 가르쳤는데, 그의 학생들 중에는 경성제대에 부임하게 되는 이들이 많았다. 경성제대 “철학, 철학사” 강좌에서 서양철학사를 가르친 아베 요시시게도 그 중 한 명이었다. 본고는, 아베가 자신의 철학사에 관해 발언한 “재탕”이라는 표현이야말로 서양철학사 수용을 본질적으로 표현하는 것임을 일본의 서양철학사 수용 과정을 통해 실증적으로 밝히고자 했다.

本稿は、金桂淑の『近世哲学史』(1955)の附録に記載されている参考 文献リストのほとんどが、京城帝国大学で哲学史を教えていた安倍能成 が参考にした欧米文献と一致している点に着目し、西洋哲学史の受容史 を整理したものである。金桂淑は1929年に京城帝大哲学科を「哲学、哲学 史」専攻で卒業した。本講座を担当した一人が安倍能成で、彼は14年間本 講座で西洋哲学史を教えた。本稿では、先行研究で不十分だった京城帝大 「哲学、哲学史」の講座題名を全期間(1926~1944)を対象に明らかにし、安 倍の講義ノートと日記をもとに、彼が西洋哲学史の講義の準備に用いたと 思われる文献の再現を試みた。さらに、安倍が京城帝大に赴任する以前、 「内地」でどのような文献に触れたかについて、1880年代から本格的に刊 行されはじめた西洋哲学史の翻譯物をできる限り集め、それらが参考にし た欧米文献を調査した。1880年代から安倍が東京帝大に在学していた1900 年代まで、帝国大学で西洋哲学史を教えた人物はほとんどが外国人教師で あった。彼らは、初期には英語で、そしてブッセ(Ludwig Busse)が赴任し てからはドイツ語で哲学史を教えた。そのなかでも特にケーベル(Raphael von Koeber)は東京帝大で20年間、西洋哲学史、ギリシャ語、詩学などを教 えた。ケーベルの教え子のなかには、のちに植民地朝鮮の京城帝大学に赴 任する者が多い。京城帝大学で西洋哲学史を教えた安倍能成もその一人で あった。本稿は、安倍が自らの哲学史について語った「焼け直し」という 表現が、まさに西洋哲学史の受容を本質的に表現するものであることを、 日本の西洋哲学史の受容過程を通じて明らかにしたものである。

This paper examines the reception history of Western philosophy, focusing on the fact that most of the references cited in Kim Gye-suk(김계숙)’s History of Modern Philosophy(서양철학사)(1955) coincide with those used by Abe Yoshishige(安倍能成), who taught the history of philosophy at Keijō Imperial University(경성제국대학). Kim Gye-suk graduated from the Department of Philosophy at Keijō Imperial University in 1929, majoring in “Philosophy and the History of Philosophy.” The professor in charge of the course was Abe Yoshishige (安倍能成), who taught the history of philosophy in this chair for 14 years. This study aims to clarify the content of the “Philosophy and the History of Philosophy” course at Keijō Imperial University, covering the years between 1926 and 1944, which has not been sufficiently addressed in previous research. By analyzing Abe’s lecture notes and his diary, this paper reconstructs the books he referenced in his lectures on the history of Western philosophy. Furthermore, it examines the texts Abe may have encountered at Imperial Universities before his appointment to Keijō Imperial University by extensively analyzing Western philosophical works that were first translated in the 1880s and reconstructing the references they cited. From the 1880s through the 1900s, while Abe was a student at Tokyo Imperial University, most of the scholars teaching Western philosophy at the Imperial Universities were foreign faculty members. In the early years, they primarily taught in English, but with the arrival of Ludwig Busse, German became the primary language of instruction. Among them, Raphael von Koeber was particularly notable, teaching Western philosophy, Greek, and poetics at Tokyo Imperial University for 20 years. Many of his students later assumed teaching positions at Keijō Imperial University in colonial Korea. Abe Yoshishige, who taught the history of Western philosophy in the “Philosophy and the History of Philosophy” course at Keijō Imperial University, was one of them. This paper demonstrates that Abe’s use of the term “recycling” to describe his philosophy of history is, in essence, a reflection of the reception of Western philosophy, as shown through Japan’s process of adopting Western philosophical history.
