본 연구는 국내 동물매개중재 관련 연구를 분석하여 현재까지의 연구동향을 파악하고, 이를 바탕으로 향 후 연구의 방향을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 2004년부터 2023년까지의 관련 학위논문 131편을 분 석하였다. 본 연구의 주요 결과로 첫째, 학위논문은 5년 주기로 전기 대비 배증하는 양적 성장 양상을 보인다. 둘째, 임상 실험연구가 주도적이기는 하나 최근 들어 문헌고찰, 질적연구, 양적연구, 개발연구도 유의적 성장을 보인 다. 셋째, 연구 대상은 임상처 확보 여부가 가장 큰 요인이며 현재까지 아동, 청소년 중심이나 향후 성인, 노인 관 련 연구도 비중이 높아질 것이다. 넷째 임상 회기 수는 10～12회기가 주도적이나 점차 연구당 회기 수가 증가하는 경향을 보인다. 다섯째, 종속변수는 정서와 사회성 중심 연구가 지속될 것이며 연구당 종속변수의 수도 점차 증가 하는 경향을 보인다. 본 연구에서는 이와 같은 분석 결과를 기반으로 국내 동물매개중재 연구, 특히 학위논문 관 련한 연구 방향을 제시하였다. 이러한 결과와 방향 제시는 관련 연구 분야의 발전에 이바지할 것으로 기대된다.

This study analyzes trends in domestic research on Animal-Assisted Interventions (AAI) to provide insights and propose future directions. A total of 131 theses from 2004 to 2023 were examined. Key findings include: (1) the volume of theses has doubled every five years. indicating quantitative growth; (2) while clinical experimental studies remain dominant, there has been notable growth in literature reviews, qualitative studies, quantitative studies, and developmental studies; (3) children and adolescents have been primary target population, but research on adults and older adults is expected to increase; (4) the number of clinical sessions typically ranges from 10 to 12, with an upward trend in session frequency; and (5) dependent variables have focused on emotional and social factors, with a growing diversity in outcomes per study. Based on these findings, the study outlines directions for future AAI research, particularly for academic theses, aiming to advance the field and its practical applications.
