본고는 1930~40년대 민병균 시에 나타난 ‘농민’ 인식을 논구해 보고자 했다. 본고에서 주목한 민병균 시의 ‘농민’ 인식은 민병균 초기시 가운데에 매우 주요 한 시적 특징이라 할 수 있다. 연구대상이 된 작품으로는 농민잡지 『농민생활』 수록시와 『신동아』, 『조선일보』에 게재된 시 및 민병균의 첫 시집 『해방도』 (1947) 외에도 두 번째 시집 『나의 노래』(1949)에 수록된 시편들이다. 시 분석을 통해 밝혀진 바는 첫째, 1930년대 시편 ｢재령강반에서｣, ｢농동｣, ｢촌공작의 말｣, ｢농민찬보｣ 등의 시를 통해 농촌계몽성과 ‘농민’에 대한 인식을 엿볼 수 있었으며, 둘째, 조국해방에 대한 열망과 기대를 ‘청년농민’ 인식으로 강조한 점을 들 수 있다. 청년농민 인식과 관련된 시로는 ｢청년｣, ｢고향｣, ｢실춘｣, ｢엄숙한 때에｣ 등을 주목했다. 본고의 의의는 그간 재북시인이란 굴레로 제 대로 조명되지 못했던 민병균의 시를 고찰하여 특히 초기시의 특징 가운데 ‘농 민’ 인식을 규명한 점인데, 이는 1930~40년대 농민문학을 살펴보는 데에도 일 정부분 기여할 것으로 본다.

The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the awareness of ‘farmers’ in Min Byeong-kyun’s poetry from the 1930s to the 1940s. The subjects of the study are the poems in Farmers’ Life, Sindonga, and The Chosun Ilbo and Min Byung-kyun’s first collection of poems, Haebangdo (1947) and his second collection of poems, My Song (1949). The analysis of the poems revealed that firstly, the poems in the 1930s showed the awareness of rural enlightenment and ‘farmers’, and secondly, the desire and expectation for the liberation of the country were emphasized as the awareness of ‘young farmers’ in the 1940s. The significance of this paper is to examine the characteristics in the poems of Min Byeong-kyun, who has not been properly illuminated as a North Korean poet, and to clarify the awareness of ‘farmers’ in the early poems of Min Byeong-kyun.
