본 연구는 제 17대부터 제 21대까지 국회에 제출된 국군부대 해외 파견 및 파견 연장 동의안에 대한 표결을 분석한다. 의원의 이념, 여당 소속 여부, 그리고 지역구 의원 여부를 주요 독립변수로 설정한다. 총 35건의 파견 및 파견 연장 동의안을 대상으로 살펴본 결과, 의원의 이념이 보수적일수록, 그리고 여당 소속일 때 관련 동의안에 있어서 찬성할 가능성 이 높은 것이 통계적으로 유의미하게 확인되었다. 지역구 의원 변수는 연장 동의안을 대상 으로 분석한 모델에서만 찬성 가능성이 높아지는 것을 통계적으로 확인하였다. 본 연구는 동의안 중에서도 국군부대 해외 파견 및 파견 연장 동의안만을 분석대상으로 삼고 있어 일반화가 힘든 한계점이 있다. 그러나 제 17대 국회부터 다루어진, 상대적으로 덜 주목받은 국군부대 해외 파견 및 파견 연장 동의안 표결에 미치는 요인을 통계적으로 살펴보고 있다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

This study examines the voting patterns on deployment motions and the extension of overseas military dispatches presented to the National Assembly from the 17th to the 21st term. The main independent variables identified are the ideology of the parliament members, their affiliation with the ruling party, and their status as district representatives. Findings suggest that legislators with more conservative ideologies and those affiliated with the ruling party are more likely to vote in favor of these deployments. The variable representing district representatives demonstrates a statistically significant increase in the likelihood of approving motions, but this trend is observed only in the model that analyzes the extension of military deployments. This study is specifically concentrated on the overseas dispatch and extension of military units, which constrains its broader applicability. Nonetheless, it provides a statistical analysis of the factors affecting voting behavior on these less-examined motions for military dispatch and extension, starting from the 17th National Assembly.
