본 연구는 중국인 태권도전공 유학생들이 선호하는 대학 요인을 분석하는데 목적이 있다. 따라서 4년제 대학에서 학교 경험이 많은 중국인 유학생 5명을 선정하여 심층 면담을 통해 다음과 같은 결론을 도출하였다. 태권도전공 중국 유학 생들이 대학생활에서 인식하는 문제점으로는 첫째, 한국어 부족으로 교양 수업 이해불가, 한국인 학생들과 교제불과, 학교 행정 및 교수와의 소통불가로 나타났다. 둘째, 태권도 전공 실기에 대한 불편 사항으로 기량 차이로 인한 무의미한 실기 수업, 전공 교수의 전문성, 동아리 활동에서의 실기능력 습득 불가로 나타났다. 따라서 중국인 태권도전공 유학생들 이 선호하는 대학의 조건으로는 첫째, 1, 2학년 교양 이론수업을 한국어 수업으로 대체, 장학금 제도를 활용한 한국인 학생들과 교제할 수 있는 방안 도입, 유학생 관리체계 구축으로 나타났다. 둘째, 태권도 전공실기에 관련하여 선호하는 대학 조건은 기초교과목 편성, 품새, 시범 전문성 있는 지도자, 외국인 동아리 창단, 외국인 지원 프로그램 도입으로 밝히 고 있다. 본 연구 결과를 토대로 개선한다면 현재 저 출산 문제와 학령인구 감소에 대한 문제를 해결할 수 있을 것이며 나아가 정부가 목표로 한 유학생 30만명 유치 또한 성공적으로 이룰 수 있을 것이다.

The purpose of this study is to analyze college factors preferred by Chinese students specializing in Taekwondo in South Korea. The study selected five Chinese students who had abundant school experiences at a South Korean university and conducted an in-depth interview with them. The findings led to the following conclusions: Chinese students specializing in Taekwondo in South Korea pointed out a couple of problems with their college life. First, the lack of Korean command prevented them from understanding liberal arts classes, having social relations with Korean students, and communicating with school administration staff and professors. Secondly, they had complaints about the practice of their Taekwondo major including meaningless practice lessons due to the ability gap between Korean and foreign students, the professionalism of the major professors, and the impossibility to acquire practice abilities through club activities. They thus had a couple of college conditions they preferred. First, they raise a need to replace theory lectures for liberal arts in the freshman and sophomore years with Korean lessons, introduce a plan to have social relations with Korean students based on the scholarship system and establish a system to manage foreign students studying in the nation. Secondly, the college conditions they preferred in relation to the practice of the Taekwondo major included the organization of the basic subject, instructors with expertise in Pumsae and demonstration, the creation of a club for foreign students, and the introduction of a program to support foreign students. If improvement is made based on these findings, it will contribute to the solution of the current low birth rates and the reduction of the school-age population. Furthermore, it will contribute to the government reaching its goal of 300,000 foreign students studying in the nation successfully.
