지금까지 어휘사의 연구 성과를 현대 국어 교육에 활용하는 방안으로는 어휘사의 지식을 어휘 교육에 활용하는 방안, 어휘사의 지식을 국어사 교육에 활용하는 방안, 어휘사의 지식을 형태, 통사, 의미, 음운 등 문법의 전 분야에 걸쳐 활용하는 방안 등 이 연구되었다. 어휘사의 연구 성과를 어휘 교육에 활용하는 방안과 관련해서는 어휘 교육 자체보 다는 문화에 대한 이해 증진에 초점을 둔 연구가 압도적으로 많았다. 이에 본고는 상대적으로 연구가 빈약한 후자에 초점을 두어 어휘사를 이용하여 어 휘의 유형을 나누어 보는 활동, 단어의 의미와 의미 관계를 알아 보는 활동, 외래어에 대한 잘못된 정보를 바로잡는 활동 등에 대해 소개를 하고, 아울러 어휘사를 중심으 로 문법의 여러 영역을 교육하는 방안에 대해 살펴보았다.

So far, there have been three types of ways to utilize research results in lexical history in Korean language education. The first is to use it for vocabulary education, the second is for teaching Korean language history, and the third is to use it in all areas of grammar, including morphology, syntax, semantics, and phonology. In relation to the method of using the research results of lexical history for vocabulary education, there were overwhelmingly many studies focusing on enhancing understanding of culture rather than vocabulary education. This paper introduced activities to classify vocabulary types using lexical history, to find out the meaning and meaning relationship of words, to correct incorrect information on foreign words, and examined ways to educate various areas of grammar centered on lexical history.
