This study examines the implementation of game-like features in a take-home exam for a Business Data Visualization course, aiming to enhance students' proficiency in MS Excel and Tableau Desktop. Drawing inspiration from computer games, the assessment was structured to motivate students to repeat the exam multiple times to improve their performance. The primary evaluation criteria were the speed of operations and accuracy of output. A transparent marking table allowed students to estimate their scores immediately, providing instant feedback. Students were permitted to resubmit the exam multiple times within a 7-day period. A short survey was conducted several days after the completion of the exam to gauge student perceptions. This paper discusses the exam's structure and survey results.
