The sharing economy and personal mobility services are now an integral part of daily life. Previous studies on shadow work in personal shared mobility have mainly focused on cognitive and emotional responses during use. However, consumers often engage in shadow work unconsciously due to its hidden nature. To address this gap, this study examines factors influencing consumers' unconscious engagement in shadow work in personal shared transportation, using a dual-system theory perspective. It also investigates whether these mechanisms affect behavioral decisions. This research expands the scope of shadow work research, enhances understanding of consumer perceptions, and aids technology designers in developing better services for different user groups from a human-computer interaction perspective.
