This study was conducted to suggest implications for restaurant management to food service entrepreneurs and prospective entrepreneurs by analyzing the relationship between the effects of other start-up success factors on non-financial management outcomes on the characteristics of food service entrepreneurs. In order to achieve the purpose of the study, a study was conducted targeting 203 managers who run the restaurant business. Multiple regression analysis was performed for frequency analysis, factor and reliability analysis, correlation analysis, and hypothesis testing using the statistical program SPSS 18.0. As a result of the analysis, the sub-factors of the founder's characteristics showed a partial influence relation on location, a partial influence relation on products, a significant influence relation on facilities, and a partial influence relation on capital power, which is a sub-factor of the startup success factor. And it was analyzed that startup success factors had a partial influence on non-financial management performance. As an implication of the study, the need for achievement showed a significant causal relationship in all factors, so it was confirmed that the need for achievement among the characteristics of restaurant founders is the most important factor in the success factors of startups.

본 연구는 외식 창업자의 특성에 다른 창업성공요인이 비재무적 경영성과에 미치는 영향관계를 분석하였다. 연구결과를 바탕으로 외식창업 자 및 예비창업자들에게 외식경영에 대한 시사점을 제시하고자 연구를 진행하였다. 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 외식업을 경영하고 있는 경영자들 203명을 대상으로 연구를 진행하였다. 통계프로그램 SPSS 18.0을 이용하여 빈도분석, 요인 및 신뢰도 분석, 상관관계분석, 그리고 가설검정을 위하여 다중회귀분석을 진행하였다. 분석 결과 창업자의 특성의 하위요인들은 창업성공 요인의 하위요인인 입지에 부분적인 영향관계, 상품에도 부분적인 영향관계, 시설에는 유의한 영향관계를 나타내었고, 자본력에는 부분적인 영향관계를 확인할 수 있었다. 그리고 창업성공요인은 비재무적 경영성과에 부분적인 영향관계가 있는 것으로 분석되었다. 연구의 시사점으로는 성취욕구는 모든 요인에서 유의한 인과관계를 나타내었기에 외식 창업자들의 특성 중 성취욕구가 창업성공요인에서 가장 중요한 요인이라는 사실이 확인되었다.
