With the rapid increase in global interaction coupled with the explosion of digital contents, human translation alone cannot keep up with the translation needs of today; machine translated texts have been increasingly used as a raw translation to be post-edited by language service providers(LSP). With this as a backdrop, this study aims to investigate students’ attitudes on the educational benefits of performing MTPE(machine translation post-editing) in undergraduate translation courses and what an effective post-editing (PE) workflow should be. Students’ responses to survey questions and reflective comments on machine translation (MT) use were analyzed to find out about learners’ perceptions and the effectiveness of an MTPE training model. Students’ responses suggest that they are satisfied with the MT quality and feel positive toward MT use in translation even though they showed a tendency to use MT to obtain corresponding expressions rather than enjoying post-editing activities.
