수년간에 걸친 코로나19 팬데믹의 영향은 현대인들에게 정서적 불안 및 경제적 위 기를 겪게 했고 이러한 영향은 교회를 형성하고 있는 구성원들에게 역시 예외일 수 없었다. 그러나 머지않아 안전한 해외관광이 가능해질 때, 성지순례는 그동안 교회가 소극적으로 목회할 수밖에 없었던 상황, 교회 구성원들의 신앙형성 및 성숙을 위한 불충분한 교육의 기회, 그리고 무엇보다 정서적 불안 등과 같은 과제를 타개하기 위 해 홀리스틱 교육과정으로 고려될 수 있을 것이다. 홀리스틱 교육과정으로서의 성지 순례는 네 가지 차원을 포괄한다. 첫째, 초월자 및 초월자로부터 제공된 계시들, 초월 자와 신앙인 간 상호작용 속에서 양산된 경전 및 문헌, 그리고 역사로부터 제공되고 있는 정보들에 대한 학습자의 앎과 관련하는 인지적 차원이다. 둘째, 학습자에 의한 감정, 가치 판단, 특정한 의미에 대한 내면화 및 인격화 등과 관련한 정서적 차원이 다. 셋째, 행동적 차원이다. 학습자의 행동은 무조건적 반사의 수준을 넘어 타자와의 관계 속에서 표현되는 의사소통, 정서적 차원에서의 인격화에 따른 주체적 및 창의적 행위 등에 관련한다. 넷째, 영적 차원이다. 기독교 교육환경에서의 영적 차원은 인간 의 지적, 정서적, 행동적 영역 내용들 간 연결과 통합, 그리고 피조물로서 인간이 창 조자인 초월자를 감지하고, 초월자의 활동에 대해 경외와 감탄을 보이며, 초월자와의 관계형성 및 성숙 등으로 설명할 수 있다. 그러므로 성지순례는 일반적인 관광과 구별된다. 그것은 초기 기독교 유물이나 장소들과 관련한 순례로부터 오늘날 현대인들 의 개인적 경건에 이르기까지 성지순례는 인지적, 정서적, 행동적 차원과의 관련만이 아니라, 초월자와의 관계 및 초월자의 활동에 대한 경외와 감탄이 관련한 영적 차원 을 통해 홀리스틱한 신앙형성 및 성숙에 기여하기 때문이다. 본 연구는 홀리스틱한 교육과정으로서의 성지순례를 위해 성지순례 전 예비교육, 성지순례 중 교육, 그리고 성지순례후 계속교육으로 구분하면서 각각의 교육모형을 제시한다.

The effects of the COVID-19 pandemic over these two years have caused modern people to experience economic as well as emotional crises, which include helplessness, depression, anger, frustration, despair, and loneliness. The members of the church are no exception. As the pandemic’s situation improves, travel between countries will become smooth again, and safe tourism overseas may return. When that time comes, pilgrimage can be considered as a holistic curriculum to overcome tasks such as reinvigorating the passive ministry, providing sufficient opportunity for faith formation and maturity education, and most of all healing the emotional scars developed during pandemic. As a holistic curriculum, pilgrimage encompasses four dimensions. First, it is a cognitive dimension related to learners' intellectual activities. This dimension relates to the learner's knowledge of the transcendent’s sovereignty, the revelations provided from the transcendent, the scriptures and literature produced in the interaction between the transcendent and the believer, and historical information. Second, it is an emotional dimension related to human feelings, judgments of values, and internalization and personalization of specific meanings by learners. Third, it is a behavioral dimension. The learner's behavior is related to communication expressed in relationships with others beyond the level of instincts, and subjective and creative behavior according to personification at the emotional dimension. Fourth, it is a spiritual dimension. The spiritual dimension in the Christian educational environment can be explained by connecting and integrating an individual’s cognitive, emotional, and behavioral domains. This process can be explained as follows: the individual notices the transcendent as creator, and then he or she--as a created lifeform--shows awe and wonder for the transcendent's activities. The individual then forms a relationship with the transcendent and achieves spiritual maturity. Therefore, pilgrimage to the Holy Land is distinct from general tourism. For such an archaic tradition to influence modern peoples’ piety today, pilgrimage to the Holy Land contributes not only to cognitive, emotional, and behavioral dimensions, but also to holistic faith formation and spiritual maturity through forming awe and wonder for transcendent’s history as well as forming a relationship with Him. This study presents each educational model such as preliminary education before pilgrimage, education during pilgrimage, and continuing education after pilgrimage for pilgrimage as a holistic curriculum.
