본 연구는 ‘예술표상과 연계한 식물중심 유아 과학탐구 프로그램’을 유아교육현장에 적용하여 효과를 검증하고 유아교육현장 적용 타당성을 검증하는 것에 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 2018년 4월 2일부터 2018년 7월 20일까지 경기도 Y유치원에 재원 중인 만 4세 유아 30명을 연구대상으로 선정하고(실험집단: 15명, 비교집단 15명) 실험집단에는 ‘예술표상과 연계한 식물중심 유아 과학탐구 프로그램’ 을 처치하였으며, 비교집단에는 ‘토론과 연계한 식물중심 유아 과학탐구 프로그램’ 을 처치하여 유아의 과학유능감, 공감능력, 인지처리능력, 언어능력에서의 차이를 분석하였다. 이를 위해 ‘과학 유능감 검사도구’, ‘공감능력 검사도구’, ‘K-ABC II’, ‘언어능력 검사도구’를 사용하여 연구자료를 수집하였으며, 수집된 연구자료는 SPSS WIN 20.0프로그램을 사용하여 t-검증을 실시하였다. 연구 결과, ‘예술표상과 연계한 식물중심 유아 과학탐구 프로그램’은 ‘토론과 연계한 식물중심 유아 과학탐구 프로그램’보다 유아의 과학유능감, 공감능력, 인지처리능력, 언어능력 증진에 효과적인 것으로 밝혀졌다.

The purpose of this study is to apply ‘The Plant-Focused Science Inquiry Program linked with Arts Representation for young children’ and to analyze the effects of it. For these purpose, 30 children(experimental group: 15, Comparison group 15) from Y kindergarten that is located to Gyeonggi province were selected. ‘The Plant-Focused Science Inquiry Program linked with Arts Representation for young children’ was treated to experimental group and 'The plant-focused Science inquiry program linked with discussion for young children’ was provided to comparison group to analyze the application effect on young children’s ‘sense of Science competence’, ‘empathy’, ‘cognitive processing skill’, and ‘language ability. Data from pretest and posttest were collected and analyzed with t-test using SPSS 20.0 Window. In conclusion, ‘The Plant-Focused Science Inquiry Program linked with Arts Representation for young children’ is more effective to promote young children’s ‘sense of Science competence’, ‘empathy’, ‘cognitive processing skill’, ‘language ability’ than 'The plant-focused Science inquiry program linked with discussion for young children’
