본 연구의 목적은 패러글라이딩 선수들의 경기 참여와 선수 생활 경험 등을 분석하여 연구결과를 기초로 한국패러 글라이딩 선수 육성과 경기력 향상에 기여할 수 있는 구체적 조언을 하는 데 목적이 있다. 연구는 다섯 명의 패러글라이딩 선수들이 참여했고, 자료는 일대일 심층면담을 통해 도출했다. 도출된 자료는 현장연구에서 새롭고 유용한 방법인 해석현 상학적 분석이다. 자료 분석 결과 11개의 상위주제와 27개의 하위주제가 나타났다. 상위주제는 미약한 출발 창대한 결과, 미흡한 보상체계로 인한 성취동기 저하, 비용장벽, 자구노력의 한계, 탠덤비행의 그림자, 생존의 위협, 의사결정 구조 열세 로 인한 정식종목 배제, 비인기종목 사회적 홀대, 벼랑 끝의 세계수준, 세대 단절의 위협, 지형적 핸디캡을 어드밴티지로 나타났다. 이와 같은 연구결과에 근거하여 논의를 했고 한국패러글라이딩 발전방안에 대하여 제언을 했다.

The of this study is to analyze the paragliding players participation in competitions and experience of athletes life, and to provide specific advice that can contribute to fostering korean paragliding athletes and improving athletic performance based on the results of the study. Five paragliding athletes participated in the study, and data were organized through indepth oneonone interviews. The data analysis was carried out by the interpretative phenomenological analysis proposed by Smith, Flower, Larkin(2009). As a of result data analysis, 27 subtopics and 11 toplevel topics were found. Top topics are weak start, grand results, poor motivation for achievement due to insufficient compensation system, cost barrier, limit of selfreliance, shadow of tandem flight, threat of survival, exclusion of official sports due to poor decision-making structure, social negligence in unpopular sports, World level at the edge of the cliff, the threat of generation breakdown, and geographical handicap were shown as advantages. Based on the results of this study, we discussed ways to develop paragliding in Korea.
