In a situation where the market is disrupted by the emergence of new technologies, the concept of ambidexterity has been developed as a strategy to respond to this environmental change. Ambidexterity is a strategic direction that simultaneously pursues exploitation and exploration in business innovation. This theory has been established as a huge research territory by numerous researchers. The researcher who has made the greatest contribution in developing this theory is Professor Charles O'Reilly who is now a professor at graduate school of business at stanford university. The study interviewed Professor Charles O'Reilly to provide practical guidance and academic insights to business executives and researchers in the fields of strategy and innovation in Korea. The purpose of this article is to present the full text of that interview.

신기술이 동시다발적으로 등장하면서 시장이 급변하고 있다. 이러한 환경 변화에 대응하기 위한 전략으로서 양 손잡이 전략(Ambidexerity strategy) 개념이 주목받는다. 양손잡이 전략은 비즈니스 혁신에서 탐색(exploration)과 이 용(exploitation)을 동시에 추구하는 전략적 방향이다. 이 이론은 수많은 연구자들에 의해 거대한 연구 영역으로 확 립되었다. 이 이론을 발전시키는 데 가장 큰 공헌을 한 학자는 스탠포드대학교 경영대학원의 찰스 오레일리 (Charles O'Reilly)교수다. 이 논문은 찰스 오레일리 교수를 인터뷰 하여 전략 및 혁신 분야의 학자들과 한국기업의 임원들에게 실용적인 지침과 학문적 통찰력을 제공하는 것을 목적으로 한다.
