본고는 ｢나카하라 츄야 문학의 종교성｣에 대해 고찰한 것이다. 고찰 내용의 중요 부분을 정리하면 다음과 같다. 첫째 시인의 존재의 깊은 바닥에 있는 “암흑영역”의 대상화 작업은 “암흑” 즉 “죄”라고 하는 부분에 대한 응시이며 시인의 종교적 특성과 관련해서는, “죄”라고 하는 부분에 대한 나름의 내면적 인식과 자각을 하면서도 결국은 이를 대상화하는 데까지는 이르지 못했다는 것이다. 둘째 신을 인식하는 방식에 있어서 아름다움과 지적인 로고스 세계의 기반 위에서 인식하고자 한다는 것이다. 이는 절대적 세계를 추구하지만 결과적으로 상대적인 현실 가운데서의 현실의식에 철저할 수밖에 없었던 츄야의 면모를 보여주는 것이다. 셋째로 결정적 순간에 신 앞에서의 자기절망이 아닌 자기 자신의 긍정이라고 하는 시도를 보이게 되는 것이다. 자아에 대한 이런 인식은 자연히 신인식의 주체적 수용이라고 하는 부분을 저해하게 되고, 결정적 순간에 ‘의심’과 ‘회의’의 분위기를 조성케 하는 것이 츄야 문학의 종교적 특성으로 정리할 수 있겠다. 이렇게 ‘츄야문학의 종교성’을 좀 더 구체적이고 종합적인 관점에서 다루어 보았는데, 그의 문학의 종교성은 일견 범신론성을 띠는 것처럼 보이지만, 이것과는 여러 면에서 차별된다는 것을 인정하게 된다. 관념적 부분을 배제한 생활적 요소가 강하게 보이는 특성을 지닌다.

The present paper examines the Religiosity of Chuya Nakahara’s Literature. The key points of the study can be summarized as follows. First, the work of objectifying the “dark region” at the deep floor of the poet’s being is to gaze at the “darkness” or what is referred to as “sin”, and in regards to the religious characteristic of the poet, this means he, in a certain respect, internally recognizes or is aware of what is referred to as “sin” but ultimately fails to objectify it. Second, with regard to the way of recognizing God, he attempts to do so on the basis of beauty and the intellectual world of the logos. This demonstrates an aspect of Chuya which is inevitably thorough toward a sense of reality amidst an ultimately relative reality even though he pursues an absolute world. Third, at a decisive moment, he demonstrates an attempt at an affirmation of his own self which stands face to face with Western dogma. Such a recognition of the self naturally disrupts what is referred to as the independent acceptance of the recognition of God, and the building of an atmosphere of “suspicion” and “skepticism” at a decisive moment can be summarized as the religious characteristic of Chuya literature. The study dealt with the “religiosity of Chuya literature” from a more detailed and comprehensive viewpoint, and although the religiosity of his literature features, at a glance, a pantheistic characteristic, it does recognize how it’s differentiated in various ways from such a characteristic. It can be understood as possessing characteristics with strong elements of living which exclude the abstract.

일본어

本稿は、｢中原中也文学の宗教性｣について考察したものである。考察の内容の重要な部分を整理すると、次の通りである。まず第一、詩人の存在の深い底にある｢暗闇の領域｣の対象化作業は、｢暗闇｣、つまり｢罪｣という部分に対する凝視である。詩人の宗教的特性と関連しては、｢罪｣という部分についてそれなりの内面認識と自覚を持ちながらも、最終的には、これを対象化するところまでは至らなかったということである。第二、神を認識する方式において美しさと知的なロゴスの世界の基盤の上で認識することである。これは絶対の世界を追求しながらも、結果的に相対的な現実の中で現実意識を徹底するしかなかった中也の姿を示すものである。第三に、決定的瞬間に西欧的教義と背馳される試みを見せるようになることである。自我の肯定というこのような認識は、神認識の主体的受容という部分を阻害することになり、決定的瞬間に｢疑い｣と｢懐疑｣の雰囲気を造成することに至ることが中也文学の宗教的特性としてまとめることができる。 このように｢中也文学の宗教性｣をより具体的かつ総合的な観点から取り上げてみたところ、彼の文学の宗教性は一見、汎神論性を帯びているようにも見えるが、これとはだいぶ違うということが認められる。観念的な部分を排除した生活的要素が強く見える特性として理解できるのである。
