이 글의 목적은 『동국정운』의 주음 원칙을 바탕으로, 15세기 우리나라 정음관의 구체적인 모습을 살피는 것이다. 아울러 여전히 논란의 여지가 있는 음가 문제에 대해서도 간략하게 검토해 보고자 한다. 『동국정운』의 성모는 기본적으로 『고금운회거요』의 자모를 따랐고, 편찬자들은 칠 음과 청탁을 절대 바뀔 수 없는 자질로 생각하였다. 그리고 운모는 거의 대부분 당시 우리나라 현실음의 중ㆍ종성을 따랐으며, 편찬자들은 운모의 자질로 개합(경중)과 등 (심천)을 중요하게 생각하였으나, 통시적인 변화도 어느 정도 받아들였다. 또한 성조는 『고금운회거요』의 사성을 예외 없이 따랐고, 사성과 질서를 절대 바뀔 수 없는 자질로 생각하였다.

The purpose of this study is to shed light on the Korean Jeongeumguan of the 15th century based on the orthography of Donggukjeongun. And I will examine the phonology of Donggukjeongun briefly. The initial system of Donggukjeongun followed the initial system of Gujinyunhuijuyao basically, and authors thought that Chileum and Cheongthak couldn’t change never. And the final system of Donggukjeongun followed the medial and final sound system of Sino-Korean of 15th century, authors thought that Gyeongjung and Simcheon were important, but admitted the change. And the tone system of Donggukjeongun followed the traditional tone system of Gujinyun- huijuyao completely, and authors thought that Saseong and Jilseo couldn’t change never.
