The Effect of Leadership Type of Student Athlete Leaders on Social Skills of Athletes

This study was conducted with the aim of identifying the effect of leadership type of student athlete leaders on social skills. To achieve this goal, data from a total of 336 students athletes enrolled in the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee were used for final analysis. The survey obtained the following conclusions by performing correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis using the SPSS statistical program(24.0). First, among the leadership types of student athlete leaders, in training instruction type, positive correlation was shown in sympathy, self-direction, self-control, and self-expression of athletes. Democratic behavior type, social support type, and positive compensation type showed positive correlation in sympathy, self-direction, and self-control, while authority instruction type showed negative correlation in sympathy. Second, among the leadership types of student athlete leaders, training instruction type, democratic behavior type, and positive compensation type had a positive effect on the sympathy of athletes, while the authority instruction type had a negative effect on sympathy. Third, among the leadership types of student athlete leaders, training instruction type, democratic behavior type, social support type, and positive compensation type were found to have a positive effect on athletes' self-direction. Fourth, among the leadership types of student athlete leaders, democratic behavior type, social support type, and positive compensation type were found to have a positive effect on athletes' self-control. Fifth, among the leadership types of student athlete leaders, training instruction type and authority instruction type were found to have a negative effect on the self-expression of athletes. In conclusion, among the leadership types of student athlete leaders, the training instruction type has a positive influence on sympathy and self-direction, and the democratic behavior type has a positive influence on sympathy, self-direction and self-control.

이 연구는 학생선수 지도자의 리더십 유형이 사회적 기술에 미치는 영향을 규명하는데 목적을 두고 실시하였다. 이와 같은 목적을 달성하기 위하여 대한체육회에 등록되어 있는 중․고등학교 학생선수 총 336명의 설문자료를 최종분석 에 사용하였다. 설문은 SPSS 통계프로그램(24.0)을 이용하여 상관관계분석 및 다중회귀분석을 실시하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 첫째, 학생선수 지도자의 리더십 유형 중 훈련지시형은 공감과 자기주도에 정적 영향을 미치고 있으며, 민주행동형은 공감과 자기주도, 자기통제에 정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 사회지지형은 자기주도와 자기 통제에 정적인 영향을 미치고 있으며, 긍정보상형은 공감과 자기주도, 자기통제에 정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났 다. 셋째, 권위지도형은 공감과 자기표현에 부적인 영향을 미치고 있으며, 훈련지시형은 자기표현에 부적인 영향을 미치 는 것으로 나타났다.
