본 연구는 유방암 생존자들의 집단연주활동에 의한 불안 및 자아존중감 변화를 살펴보는 데 목적을 두고 있다. 본 연구의 대상은 유방암 생존자 4명으로서, 사례는 그룹모임 및 심층면담을 통해 수집하였으며 질적 연구방법 중 사례분석방법을 활용하였다. 그룹모임은 경기도 소재 G병원에서 이루어졌으며, 6개월 동안 집단연주활동 프로그램에 참여하였다. 유방암 생존자들은 처음 유방암이 발병했을 때 정신적 충격과 혼란, 불안, 두려움을 표현하였고, 여성성의 상징이라고 여겨지는 유방절제 수술로 인해 자신감 저하, 우울 등을 나타냈다. 유방암 생존자들은 집단연주활동에 참여하여 질병에 대한 깊은 공감대 형성 및 나눔으로 감정 해소를 경험하였다. 유방암 생존자들은 주기적인 집단연주활동에 참여하면서 연주실력 향상과 함께 자신의 재능을 발견하였고, 집단 연주활동을 통한 봉사의 보람은 성취감 및 삶의 의미를 높여 불안 해소, 자아존중감 증진에 긍정적 변화를 주었다. 이러한 연구결과를 통해 집단연주활동이 유방암 생존자들의 삶의 질 향상을 위한 불안 해소 및 자아존중감 증진에 유용하게 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

The purpose of this Research is to look at the changes in anxiety and self-esteem caused by group play activities in breast cancer survivors. Four breast cancer survivors in this study were collected through group meetings and in-depth interviews, and the case analysis method was utilized among qualitative research methods. The group meeting took place at G Hospital in Gyeonggi-do for six months. Breast cancer survivors expressed shock, confusion, anxiety and fear when they first developed breast cancer, and decreased confidence and depression due to mastectomy, which is considered loosing a symbol of femininity. Breast cancer survivors participated in group activities and experienced emotional relief through deep empathy and sharing of emotion. Breast cancer survivors discovered their talent in addition to improving their performance while participating in periodic group play activities, and the value of their service through group play increased their sense of achievement and meaning in life, which made positive changes in self-esteem. It is expected that these findings will help group performances to improve the quality of life for breast cancer survivors and promote self-esteem.
