목적 : 국내의 경우 치매 노인 보호자를 위한 중재 프로그램에 대한 연구가 국외에 비해 부족한 편이고, 주로 단일군 전후설계나 사례연구로 진행되어 연구의 질적 수준이 낮은 편이다. 본 고찰에서는 국외 치 매 노인 보호자를 위한 중재 프로그램 중 연구의 질적 수준이 높은 무작위 대조군 연구만을 선정하여 중재 프로그램의 종류와 효과를 파악하고자 한다. 연구방법 : PRISMA(Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses)를 이 용하여 국외 치매 노인 보호자를 위한 중재 프로그램의 효과를 측정한 무작위 대조군 연구에 대한 체계 적 고찰을 시행하였다. 논문 검색은 PubMed, Medline(ProQuest), EBSCOhost(CINAHL Plus with full text), PsycINFO를 이용하였다. 본 고찰의 선정기준에 맞는 문헌의 수는 총 8편이었고, PEDro scale(Physiotherapy Evidence Database scale)을 사용하여 문헌의 질을 평가하였다. 결과 : 총 8편의 문헌에서 사용된 중재 프로그램은 가정방문 4편, 전화상담 2편, 교육 1편, 명상 1편으로 가정방문이 가장 많았고, 우울증, 스트레스, 삶의 질 등에서 효과적이었다. 결론 : 국외의 다양한 중재 프로그램과 같이 국내에서도 치매 노인 보호자들을 대상으로 작업치료적인 요 소를 포함한 중재 프로그램이 필요하다.

Objective: In Korea, there is a lack of studies on interventions for caregivers of people with dementia. The aim of this systematic review was to examine randomized controlled trial studies about interventions for caregivers of people with dementia conducted outside Korea. Methods: This systematic review was conducted following the Preferred Reporting Items for systematic reviews and meta-analyses(PRISMA) guideline. Database searches were done through PubMed, Medline(ProQuest), EBSCOhost(CINAHL Plus with full text), and PsycINFO. A total of 8 studies were included in this review. Each of the included studies was assessed for the quality using the PEDro Scale. Results: Interventions of the included studies involved home visits(4 studies), telephone counseling(2 studies), education(1 study), and meditation(1 study). Those studies were effective in improving caregivers’depression, stress, and quality of life. Conclusion: Since the included studies of this review were conducted in foreign countries, some interventions may not be suitable for caregivers in Korea and the results may not be generalizable to Korean caregivers of people with dementia. Studies about interventions for caregivers of people with dementia should be actively conducted in Korea. In particular, further studies about interventions by occupational therapists who are the experts in activity analysis, task simplification, and environmental modifications are needed.
