본 연구의 목적은 인지기능저하로 일상생활에 어려움을 겪고 있는 청각장애학생에게 미술치료를 실시하여 청각장 애학생의 인지에 어떠한 변화가 있는지 알아보고, 나아가 추수기간에도 이러한 변화가 지속적으로 유지되는지 파악하는 것이다. 이러한 목적을 위하여 청각장애 6등급인 남학생을 대상으로 총 21회기의 미술치료 단일사례연구 를 실시하였다. 미술치료를 통한 내담자의 인지기능 변화 관찰을 위해 A(baseline), B(treatment), A(follow-up) 단일사례연구설계를 적용하여 기저선을 구축하였고, 미술치료 프로그램을 개입하여 내담자의 인지기능을 활성화한 후 추후 유지기간의 변화를 살펴보았다. 미술치료를 통한 인지기능의 변화를 시계열분석에 따라 살펴본 결과, 작품 주제에 대한 인지, 형태력과 색채 인지, 의사소통 영역에서 긍정적인 변화를 나타냈다. 본 연구는 청각장애 학생의 인지기능 활성화를 위한 미술치료 프로그램의 개입 가능성을 밝혔다는데 연구의 의의가 있다.

This study aims to observe a hearing-impaired students’ learning difficulties caused by limitations in communication and cognitive problems, and to investigate the effect of art therapy on the cognitive area as well as whether the effect of art therapy is maintained or not during follow-up period. For this study, a total of 21 sessions of art therapy were conducted for a male student with hearing impairment grade 6. The research was designed as A(baseline)-B(treatment)-A(follow-up) form, a single case study, to track the process of change in relating to cognition. From studying the time series analysis results, art therapy was effective in the participant’s cognitive area and led to a result that can be maintained independently. Therefore, this study holds its significance in the fact that art therapy program helped to aware situations experienced in daily life and to strengthen and to maintain cognitive ability.
