Rosanjin, who possessed a particular and through dedication to food, produces ceramics that would work in harmony with food, and in doing so created a new market for high-end handmade ceramics. At the same time, his activities were a driver of innovation in the Japanese ceramics industry. In this context, this paper focuses on food and ceramics in tracing Rosanjin’s work and contributions as an integrative artistic producer. Rosanjin’s goal was to achieve a living beauty that had everyday use as its founding premise. The contribution of this study is to confirm that Rosanjin was a key figure who led Japanese food culture into a new domain and created new value and a new market for ceramics.
