This study does show the semantic features of the form, kanoyouda(kanoyouni/youna) and youda(youni/youna) representing the metaphor in modern Japanese. Since these two forms have some similarities semantically, both forms are replaced in many cases. A+kanoyouda can be replaced by A+youda when it represents state descriptions, and there is no significant semantic difference between the two forms. In A which is shown as te-iru form and ta-form, the event that is already realized has to be used as an object of metaphor. When A+kanoyouda represents euphemistic affirmation, it can not be replaced as A+youda since youda is easy to be interpreted as a form of Epistemic modality. kanoyouni is normally used in 2 forms such as description of action, and description of state. When kanoyouda depicts action, it represents purpose and manner. When it represents the purpose, it can be replaced as youni. If it represents the manner with ru-form, it can not be replaced, but it can be replaced with ta-from. kanoyouna represents the description of state, and it can be replaced by A(ta-form)+youna if an event which already happened is used as the object of metaphor in A.
