이 연구는 르네상스 시기의 선형 투시도 발명이 시각예술에 미치는 많은 영향중에서도 특히 도시광장에 관한 영향을 살펴보는 것이다. 이에 선형 투시도의 예술사적 의의와 공간 인식론의 변화를 살펴보고 이 변화에 따른 공간과 광장 계획의 변화를 추출한다. 이때 추출된 요소로는 기하학적 질서의 실현, 광장의 폐쇄성과 통일성, 입면과 바닥면의 선형요소 강조 등으로 요약된다. 곧이어 르네상스 도시광장 중 4개의 사례 즉, 피엔자의 바오2세 광장, 비제바노의 듀칼레 광장, 로마 캄피돌리오 광장, 피렌체의 우피치 광장을 선정하여, 광장의 계획에 미친 영향을 구체적으로 살펴보고 그 특징을 정리한다. 결과적으로 르네상스 광장의 특징을 설명하는데 있어서 당시 발견된 투시도와의 관계 속에서 투시도가 갖는 의미와 함께 추출한 시각 요소를 그 기반으로 사용하였다.

This study examines the effects of the linear perspective on Renaissance period on the city square in many of its effects on visual arts. This paper examines also the art-historical meaning and the change of space epistemology in the linear perspective, and extracts the changes of space and square’s planning according to these changes. The extracted elements are summarized as the application of the geometric order system, the closeness and the unification of the square, and the emphasis of linear elements in the elevation and floor. Four examples of the Renaissance city square were selected: Pio II Square in Pienza, Ducale Square in Vigevano, Campidolio Square in Roma, and Uffizi Square in Florence. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the effects on the plans of the plazas in detail and to analysis its characteristics.
