우리나라는 세계 어느 나라보다도 빠른 노령화 현상으로 인해 전체 인구 중 나이든 세대들이 차지하는 비율이 급속히 증가하고 있다. 이러한 변화에 대응하는 여러 산업 분야의 기업체들이 증가하고 있으며, 이들 기업은 노년층 시장에 대한 낙관적인 기대를 가지고 있다. 기업이 다른 기업과의 경쟁에서 우위를 차지하기 위해서는 노년층소비자에 대한 정보가 많을수록 유리하나, 이에 대한 이해나 정보는 미흡하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 노년층을 대상으로 활동하는 기업들이 효율적인 전략을 수립하는 데 시사점을 제공하기 위하여 노년층 라이프스타일 유형 및 그에 따른 제품관여 수준별 구매영향요인을 조사 분석하였다. 이는 실버소비자를 대상으로 마케팅 전략을 수립하는 기업들에게 지표로 사용될 수 있을 것이다

Recently, elderly populations are coming out as the first magnitude consumers. The purpose of the study is to analyze the basic data useful to get the public attention concerning the development of the market for elderly by looking into the types of lifestyle and the purchase factors which may influence the elderly consumer. This survey was performed on individuals of age 50 and older in the metropolitan area. The types of lifestyle for elderly consumer were classified into 5 types; materialistic, traditional, self-centered, passive, satisfactional. Each group showed different factors that affect purchase of products; the satisfactional type was mostly affected by the newspapers and magazines. The TV media did not effect on the purchase products in all 5 types in elderly consumers. The result of the study will be very useful in establishing the relevant elderly marketing strategies and in providing the business opportunities of the market for elderly consumers.
