Employee’s incorporate behavior to comply with information security policy(ISP) may raise a serious problem as a data breach. Information security research has explored many motivation factors in ISP compliance. The behavioral factors that autonomy, responsibility and work impediment have been highlighted in information security context. However, little research has been conducted on the effects of the factors. Thus, the purpose of this study is to examine employees’ self-determination as autonomy motivation, perceived responsibility and work impediment on ISP compliance intention. We test the proposed structural model with research hypotheses using non-linear partial least square test. The results are summarized as follows. 1) Autonomy negatively affects work impediment, and positively affects perceived responsibility; 2) Perceived responsibility positively affects compliance with ISP intention; 3) Work impediment negatively affects compliance with ISP intention. Based on the result, we discuss implications and suggestions for further studies.
