본 논문은 정신분석적 예술론이 어떻게 이해되고 분석될 수 있는가를 다루었다. 정신분석적 예술론은 사유의 지평을 확대함 과 동시에 승화와 치유로서의 예술이 어떻게 작업되는가를 보여준다. 정신분석적 승화는 단순히 외상의 극복 차원에 머무르 는 것이 아니라, 상실한 욕망대상, 혹은 결핍의 채움에 대한 끝없는 부정의 작업을 통해 진행된다. 본 논문에서는 치료로서 의 정신분석적 예술의 전형으로 현대미술 사조에서 한 획을 그은 Louise Bourgeois의 작품을 정신분석적 관점에서 살펴보 았다. Bourgeois는 자신의 유년기의 발달사를 작품창조의 소재로 차용하여 자신의 외상을 극복해나갔다. 실재(the real)-성 차로 인한 가족사의 외상은 그녀가 평생 동안 천착해온 예술작업의 동력이었다. 실재에 대한 작업에서 그녀는 성차를 넘어 서는 다른 향유(Lacan), 태곳적 여성성(Klein)으로의 지향을 보여주며, 이는 궁극적으로 그녀의 예술작업이 겨냥하는 지점 으로 이해될 수 있다.

This paper is intended to reveal psychoanalytic aesthetic criticism about Louis Bourgeois. Sublimation is a search in the outside world for the lost body of childhood. The major themes of Bourgeois’ works are sexuality and insecurity, stemming from her childhood traumatic memories. This aspect of her works later focused on gender equality. Her creative artistic work is result from working over her traumatic life and childhood memories. Her works were byproducts of the anxieties and emotional void she felt all her life. Bourgeois's mortuary aesthetics show us the spurt of death drives, sadism, and reparative impulses which the damaged, broken object is to be repared. Klein assumes that an artist in his work is working through his infantile depressive position. A Kleinian and Lacanian-based analysis would have to be grounded in Bourgeois's theory of fantasy as produced by bodily drives, of such fantasy as the primary structuring principle of psychic experience. The sublimation creates certain forms of art, which is so close to the domain of psychoanalytic therapy.
