The object of this study is to clarify the meaning of the direct experience in the practical arts education In the beginning, this study searches the misunderstanding about the direct experience in practical arts education. To clarify the meaning of the direct experience, this study choose three factors which can be included in the direct experience contest from the theory of Dewey and arbeitserziehung.
This study is focussing on developing the system for understanding of the direct experience contest from these three factors. These three factors are knowledge, practical capability, and the problem solving ability. This study searches the function of each factor in the direct experience context. And classify the ability which can be acquired from the experience in which each factor is operating.
These abilities are not the instant knowledges or skills, but will affect the following experience.
