본 논문에서는 클라우드 시스템의 다중 원격 화면 전송시스템을 위한 신뢰성 있는 다중 스크린 프로토콜을 제안한다. 클라우드 시스템에서는 가상화 서버가 네트워크에 통해 사용자와 연결되며, 다중의 사용자들은 스크린 장치로 모니터, 디지털 TV, 테블릿 PC 및 스마트폰과 같은 주변의 사용자 인터페이스 장치를 사용할 수 있다. 교육 응용에서는 다중 스크린 장치들이 하나의 가상머신 화면 데이터를 동시에 보여줄 수 있어야 한다. 하지만, 편재되어 있는 화면 장치들은 멀티캐스트 프로토콜을 지원하지 못 할 수도 있으며, 화면 데이터 전송 시에 패킷 손실이 발생할 수 있다. 그래서 신뢰성 있는 하이브리드 다중 화면 전송 프로토콜이 클라우드 시스템에서의 원격 화면 전송시스템에서 필요하다. 하이브리드 다중 스크린 프로토콜은 가상머신과 연결되는 첫 스크린 장치와는 유니캐스트 방식을 사용하고, 이후 연결되는 같은 서브넷의 스크린 장치는 멀티캐스트로 연결된다. 하이브리드 멀티캐스트 스크린 프로토콜은 네트워크에서 멀티캐스트를 지원하지 않는 경우에도 다중 원격 화면 전송이 가능하다. 또한, 제안된 프로토콜은 서브넷에서 사용하는 멀티캐스트 패킷에 재전송 기법을 추가하여 멀티캐스트 패킷의 손실이 발생하여도 신뢰성 있는 화면 전송을 할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 제안된 신뢰성 있는 다중 스크린 프로토콜을 이용하여 다중 원격 화면 전송 시스템을 구현하여 비디오 및 텍스트 화면 전송이 잘 수행되는 것을 실험을 통해 보인다.

To support multiple remote presentations in a cloud system, this paper proposed a reliable hybrid multicast screen protocol. In a cloud system, the virtualization server is located behind the network, and multiple users can work using nearby screen devices, such as a monitor, digital TV, tablet PC, and smart phone. In education applications, multiple-screen devices should display the same screen data from one virtual machine (VM) simultaneously. Multicast is an efficient way of delivering data to a group of destinations simultaneously. However, some ubiquitous screen devices do not support a multicast protocol, and some packet losses may occur in the network. So, the reliable hybrid multicast screen protocol is needed to send remote presentation data in cloud system. The hybrid multicast screen protocol uses a unicast protocol between the VM and the first selected screen device, and a multicast protocol between the multicast server (the first selected screen device) and multicast clients (screen devices in the same subnet). The hybrid multicast screen protocol supports a multiple remote presentation system even if routers and screen devices do not have a multicast protocol. The proposed protocol also has a retransmission mechanism to support a multiple remote presentation system even if packet losses occur during a multicast data transmission. We implemented the multiple remote presentations system. And experimental results showed that the proposed protocol works well in the video and presentation applications.
