The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of participation motivation on exercise adherence and leisure satisfaction in senior welfare center sports programs. For the purpose, the elderly who resided in Gwangju as of 2013 and participated in senior welfare center sports center programs were established as a participation. Using quota sampling, 500 elderly people who regularly participated in the sports program for more than six months were selected. 424 people's data which could be processed were analyzed for the study using SPSS 18.0 program. The results are as follows. First, participation motivation had an effects on all factors of exercise adherence in senior welfare center sports programs. In other words, such participation motivation factors as condition/achievement, health/physical fitness, and pleasure had important effects on interest in exercise, exercise environment, exercise friends, an exercise habit, and exercise ability. Second, participation motivation had an effects on all factors of leisure satisfaction in senior welfare center sports programs. In other words, such participation motivation factors as condition/achievement, health/physical fitness, and pleasure had important effects on emotional satisfaction, physical satisfaction, and social satisfaction.
