This study points out the problems and limitations of today's urban structure which has developed in the modern era and targets the area near Dongrae-gu district office in Busan for empirical analysis and application of the research. the notion of heterotopia is seen as a social product instead of a mere physical form and product through the urban and architectural form of this city, and the study of the history of remaining traces of Dongrae Fortress near Dongrae-gu district office, which is a social product of Busan urban history, attempts to interpret the relationship between the whole and the parts and among each parts in the aspect of morphological characteristic of heterotopia.
