Every year, thousands of tourists visit Venice in Italy, and more than 80% of them come to this city by train or bus. However, these places could not role as an urban gate of Venice result from disharmonious external appearance with other buildings. In the past, San Marco square was the central place, as such, the center of its government, economy, and culture. Also this place was accepted as an effective means for city entrance with its shape. From this backdrop, this project will present that refurbishing Santa Lucia station as a new urban gate with consideration for context of Venice.
