The purpose of this study was to compare the difference in 4 x 100m relay time between Korea and Japan in order to improve the performance of 4 x 100m relay for the 17th Incheon Asian Games in 2014. This study compared 4 x 100m relay time between high school and masters levels of Korea and Japan. Using the top 10 best athletes, we compared the 4 x 100m Relay's best time, progress of record, record development and the difference between periods. The results indicated that Japanese had faster records both high school and masters levels over the year. The masters level of Korea showed a highest rate of best record growth. Japanese was faster than Korean on the average time of the top 10 by year. There was a significant difference in the analysis of records difference by the periods. It was concluded that Korean athletes showed lower levels compared to Japanese. It was even more lower in the masters level than high school level; therefore, it is imperative that Korean track & field team needs more organized training methods to improve the performance on the 4 x 100m relay.
