2007 개정 실과 교육과정에 따른 교과서가 2011년도부터 초등학교 현장에 적용되고 있다. 본 연구는 2007년 개정 교육과정의 총론 및 실과 교육과정에서 제시된 일-직업 교육 목표를 분석해보고 학교 수업에서 활용되는 실과 5, 6학년 교과서에 나타난 일-직업 관련 내용을 분석해 보는 데 있다. 이를 위해 초등학교 실과 5, 6학년 7종의 교과서의 단원별 일-직업 관련 내용이 제시된 현황과 일-직업 관련 내용과 자료유형을 살펴보았으며, 교과서에 제시된 직업명을 조사하고 이를 한국표준직업분류별로 그 유형을 분류해 봄으로써 얼마나 다양한 직업군의 직업명과 관련 정보를 제공하고 있는지 그 실태를 파악하였다. 교과서 분석에 대한 다양한 선행 연구 분석을 통해 분석 준거를 설정하였고, 교과서 7종 분석 결과를 비교 분석함으로써 실과 교과서에 나타난 일-직업 관련 내용의 실태를 파악하였다. 이를 통해 실과 교과서에 제시된 일-직업 관련 내용을 통한 진로교육의 방향을 모색할 수 있는 기초 자료를 제공할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. 그리고 교과서를 새로운 시각에서 분석하여 결과를 제시하는 것은 관련된 교육구성원들에게 교과서에 대한 비판적 시각을 제공할 수 있다는 면에서 매우 의미 있는 일이다.

2007 revised Practical Arts curriculum has been applied into elementary education. Presenting the results of the new textbook analysis is very meaningful in terms that it can provide a critical sight about textbooks to related education members when they started to be used in schools. In this study, a comparative analysis of seven kinds of textbooks in 5th, 6th grade respectively was conducted especially on the 'work-occupation' unit in 2007 revised Practical Arts textbooks. The purpose of this study was to analyze the job iles(vocation) in Practical Arts textbook. 14 textbooks were analyzed and exacted vocations in ext and illustration by grade subject and KSCO(Korea Standard Occupational Classification). According to Korea Standard Occupational Classification, the presented occupations were grouped. Professional occupations, Service occupations, Sales occupations, Technical occupations. The implications for textbook writers career education teachers, and educational official were suggested. The various occupations suitable for developmental stages of children should be introduced.
