The Effects of 12-week Combined Aquatic Exercise on risk factor of Vascular Dementia in the Obese Elderly Women
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of 12-week combined aquatic exercise on risk factors of vascular dementia in the obese elderly women. The subjects were the over 65 years obese women who participated in combined aquatic exercise program at a social welfare organization. Total 9 of subjects were participated in and had 50 min session with 3 day per week for 12 weeks. This Combined aquatic exercise was composed of aquatic aerobic and resistance exercises(RPE 9-16). Some variation of body composition and risk factor of vascular dementia were measured before and after exercise. Through statistical analysis on paired t-test, following results. There were no significance in SBP(systolic blood pressure), DBP(diastolic blood pressure), Glucose, TC(total cholesterol), TG(triglyceridc), LDL-C(Low Density Lipoprotein - Cholesterol), HDL-C(High Density Lipoprotein - Cholesterol), Dopamine, Epinephrine, depression but there were significance in Norepinphine before and after exercise. These findings indicate that combined aquatic exercise was effective to prevent vascular dementia risk factors and to retard the velocity of vascular dementia.
