안전지식 함양, 안전기능 체득, 안전태도 향상을 목표로 하는 안전교육은 별다른 제한 없이 효율적으로 사용될 수 있는 중요한 안전대책일 뿐만 아니라 재해를 감소시키기 위한 수단 중에 제일 큰 우선도를 갖는다. 그러나 건설현장에서의 안전교육은 매우 형식에 치우쳐 교육을 위한 교육일 뿐이며 근로자들에게 안전교육 시간은 지루하고 따분한 시간일 뿐이다. 이러한 이유는 자기와 상관없는 교육내용과 개인적 특성을 무시한 일괄교육에서 기인하며 이는 더 이상 근로자의 자발적 참여를 유도하지 못한다. 따라서 건설근로자들의 개인적 특성에 맞는 다양한 안전교육 시스템 개발이 필요하다. 이에 본 연구는 건설근로자의 개인적 특성에 맞는 안전교육 시스템을 구축하기 위해 건설현장에서 종사하는 근로자를 대상으로 설문조사와 통계분석을 실시하여 개인적 특성에 맞는 안전교육 시스템을 제시하였다.

Safety education, which aims to cultivate an understanding of safety, to help acquire safety skills, and to improve attitude toward safety, is an important safety measure that doesn't entail restrictions to be carried out efficiently. Furthermore, safety education is perceived to be the most preferred measure in reducing the occurrence of accident. The current practice of safety education in construction sites, however, is all formal and has no substance. Safety education became a mere boring time to workers since the material is not related to them, and does not reflect the individual characteristics, which cannot induce voluntary participation of workers. Thus, it is vital to develop various safety education system suitable for individual characteristics of construction workers. This study aims to provide the basic data necessary to establish safety education systems according to individual characteristics of construction workers. For this aim, the study seeks to propose a system for safety education that complies with individual characteristic of construction workers by a survey using questionnaires and statistical analyses of workers on the construction sites.
