눈은 사람 몸에 붙어있는 하나의 감각기관이며 보는 행위를 가능케 하는 감관이다. 본 연구에서는 시각은 단순히 보는 것이 아닌 어떻게 보고 무엇을 느꼈는지에 있으며, 단순한 생리적 현상에서 벗어나 인간의 인지작용에 의해서 발생하는 쾌적한 의미의 개념으로 시각이란 단어를 사용하고자 하고 눈의 시각으로 느낄 수 있는 쾌적한 생태건축 기법들을 알아보고 그 기법들의 특성을 파악하여 공간디자인에 적극 활용할 수 있는 방법 및 가능성을 제시하려고 한다. 이를 위하여 문헌과 자료를 통해 20세기에 시각적으로 쾌적한 개념에 대한 흐름을 역사적 고찰을 통하여 살펴보고, 이를 바탕으로 시각적으로 쾌적함을 연출할 수 있는 공간에 대한 새로운 관점과 접근 방향에서 출발하여 작품들을 수집하고 분석하여 축적된 디자인 요소들과 기법들을 알아보았으며, 그 결과 경계의 모호함, 연속/순응, 완충공간으로서의 녹화, 빛의 조절, 자연요소의 도입, 아트리움 등 6개의 활용 가능한 공간디자인 요소와 방법 및 가능성 을 제시하였다.

Human eyes, which are organs that can distinguish behaviors, are a part of the body sensory organs. In this paper, performing vision is not only to distinguish different things, but also to know how to look and perceive. Vision is not a simple physiological appearance; moreover, it is also a proper concept which can be utilized to explain vision by physical cognition. We comprehend the design methods and features of ecological architecture from visual observation though this concept, which also gives the space design methods and possibilities several hints. Therefore, we looked over the process about visual comfort concept of 20th century with a historical perspective by means of the literature and reference material. Proceed from a new view in vision suitable and its adjacent direction, collect and analyze works, understand the accumulative design factors and methods. Finally, 5 available space design methods and possibilities, including the vague of boundaries, continuation/adaptation, buffer space greening, sunlight’s adjustment and natural elements importing, were prompted.
