The purpose of this paper is to analyze English and Korean aspects, with special reference to the difference between the two languages in aspectual expressions. There are two basic aspectual oppositions, namely the perfective aspect and the imperfective aspect. They can be called grammatical categories of English aspects because they are represented in the same forms as grammatical forms. They are aspectual markers in English and Korean aspect. In semantics, aspects can be classified into lexical categories such as inception, result, termination, iteration, repetition and duration, etc. There are aspectual markers in both Korean and English. However, Korean has much more aspectual markers than English. In this paper, suggest how to divide and compare the aspectual markers in English and Korean.
