This study aims to suggest what type of language policy should be planned and put into practice in Jeju Free International City(JFIC). JFIC doesn't have to choose English as an official language, but to make it the dominant language of wider communication with many foreigners from all parts of the world. At the same time our national identity and traditional values should be retained through the correct uses of our mother tongue, Korean. In this study, the real meaning of keeping English as an official language, the foreign language service system in JFIC, an advisable language policy in JFIC and some future tasks for developing JFIC are dealt with.
